Notes: This ficlet is for linaelyn in response to this challenge. This is my very first attempt at a Master and Commander fic. Also note that the Caribbean Monk Seal is extinct, was last sighted in 1952 and was very rare by the end of the 18th century due primarily to overfishing by sailors who did use them for food. They were first caught by Christopher Columbus's crew in 1493.
