Friendly Pics!

¡Hola! Today, February 16th New Zealand time, I finished my second bunch of drawings. After a few days, cleaning up and painting and retouching and re-drawing some of them, I'm proud to say that I'm satisfied with my work and now I want to share them with you guys and I really hope you like them.

There's no slash intended in any of these drawings, just friendly (and not too friendly) images of Jack and Stephen. I think I have two individual drawings like wallpapers and one sketch. I forgot what I have haha. Anyways, now that I learnt how to make a cut tag (Yay!), I don't have to worry about the size. Enjoy! :3

In order:

1.- Jack's expressions
2.- "Open your bloody mouth!" (Or I'll hit you with this wooden stick! xD)
3.- Captain Maturin
4.- "Birdies!"
5.- Morning shaving (Ok. I have a HUGE question. Did the people aboard shave by themselves? Did they shave AT ALL? I can't imagine Stephen with a huge beard, maybe Jack, but not the doctor. I made some research but I didn't get it very well... so if someone can explain me :3)
6.- Boys Toys
7.- Jack Aubrey's Wallpaper (sort of)
8.- Stephen Maturin's Wallpaper (I thought of Esteven meanwhile I was sketching, therefore it's dedicated to you :D)
9.- Tertulia con Velas (Tertulia in English is gathering or meeting, something like that. The whole name is "Gathering with candles", if I'm not wrong. I hope so )

I really enjoyed drawing these pics for you guys, I was highly motivated by this group, so I really, really hope you like them as much as my previous work.

I started already with my romantic pics (the slashy ones haha, I tried some het  ones but... I didn't like them) so I guess I'll be uploading some more next weekend.

Thank you very much for your kindness to me and I hope I can be around here the all year.

These are all great! I lol'ed at "Joyful/Drunk/Weevil Joke"

I'm almost positive there are passing references in the canon to shaving but I could not tell you where, specifically. I'd assume officers for the most part would be expected to be clean-shaven, but I have some vague picture in my mind of a reference to Stephen shaving, specifically. Who knows though, I may have just be fantasizing about it, haha ;)

Yay! Thanks! I thought he uses the same face haha, I can try different ones though. I love drawing Jack's face.

Well, after I asked here, I saw captain Saywer (Hornblower series) been shaved by one of his men, so I guessed that they did shave haha. :3 Thank you for your comment!

Those are so adorable!! I love the 'Birdies' one and the 'Boys Toys' one.

As for shaving, a clean shaven face (but with fabulous side burns!) was in fashion during the period the books are set, so certainly all of the officers would shave. The rest of the crew might shave less often, but they would shave. There would probably be a ships barber to help them out, seeing as the razors of the time had no safety and I'm sure it must be difficult shaving on a rocking ship. As for Stephen, he is as usual a complete disgrace to the ship, constantly avoiding a shave, so I usually picture him with some stubble. But certainly not a beard. I believe it's usually Killick who shaves him. The officers I'm assuming would shave themselves. And as for Jack, I can't remember if Killick shaves him or if he does it himself or both.

I seem to remember that Jack usually shaves himself except when he's injured. I vaguely remember a reference where his hand was hurt and he was irked that Killick had to do his shaving.

I love the boys about to play in the bath with toy boats and penguins...

As for beards, they would be clean shaven. In DI, when Stephen emerges from quarantine he has grown a beard, which he thinks he might keep, because Roman emperors retained their beards when at war. Jack in his relief does not point out that what may be acceptable for a Roman emperor is not for a surgeon in the Royal Navy.

It's nothing, no worries. I had been drawing them more than my last obsession and I really enjoy doing it. I'm more excited because there's people who likes them and understand them. Thank you all of you.

OH....migod! The 4th one was incredible!

And as far as I know men shaved. It was superstious to cut your hair, but shaving I think was encouraged.

I adore the Boy Toys one. You just know Stephen and Jack are doing exactly that when no one is watching (Jack keeps his toy boats in the bottom drawer behind his paperwork).

The open your mouth one is great too. Actually, they are all lovely! :)
